Q: Wellness Coaching sounds a bit like therapy, how is it different?

Most current therapies emphasize pharmacological interventions combined with either enhancing current thinking (cognitive/behavioral approaches) or pychodynamic therapies where past pain is talked about.  While these ways have helped, some people need something more or want to avoid drugs if possible and want a deeper more complete healing.  Wellness Coaching allows you, in relationship with your True Self and your spirit, to release and integrate past pain that for many is the main roadblock to knowing your True Self and living now with the health you were designed for.  You will learn and practice monitoring techniques which allow you to carefully and efficently evaluate your internal dialogue and feelings and integrate and process them appropriately to bring about the most effective healing and transformation.

Q: How Much do coaching sessions cost?

Our first one-hour meeting is free. Cost of individual sessions is based on a sliding scale, from $70 to $55 per hour, depending on income. This will be determined in your first meeting.

Q: How many sessions are usually necessary?

It depends on what you want to accomplish and what outcomes you want.  Four to six sessions over a couple of months may be all that is necessary if your level of functioning is high and your goals and outcomes are moderate.  Also, your spiritual maturity, and the strength of your spiritual practice will have an impact on your process.

If more in-depth work is necessary, more sessions over a longer period of time will yield the best results.  I have discovered and believe that the change process is usually two steps forward, one step back.  Our false self neural grooves are strong and the unhealthy parts of egos resist change.  Since we are going to be dealing with the deep roots of your dysfunctional heath behaviors not just the “symptoms”, it is important to know that real change does not happen over night.
